Bio
Dr. Mitchel Sauvageau was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and spent his formative years between Lincoln and Omaha. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology with minors in biochemistry and psychology from the University of Nebraska and remains an avid Nebraska football fan. While at the University of Nebraska, he enjoyed volunteering for children with special needs and the Special Olympics.
He then attended Lincoln Memorial University- DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. During medical school he and his wife went to Haiti on a medical mission trip.
Dr. Sauvageau completed his 5-year residency in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery through the McLaren Health System in affiliation with Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his final year of residency, he was honored to be named chief resident. He also held a clinical faculty position through Michigan State University for two years. Dr. Sauvageau continues to enjoy lecturing to medical students, residents, and faculty.
When not working, Dr. Sauvageau enjoys spending his time with his wife and two young boys. They are very active and spend their time exploring the Tennessee wilderness. Dr. Sauvageau also enjoys reading, snowboarding, and trying new things.
